ANGOLA
Strong relationship key to efficiently run projects
Flexible planning and special vessel capabilities deliver multi-million dollar savings.
Maersk Supply Service has supported CABGOC (Chevron Angola) for approximately 10 years, assisting with a wide range of projects. What started as an anchor-handling operation grew quickly into a strong partnership between Maersk Supply Service and CABGOC covering many different projects, including:
- Scale squeeze operations
- Xmas tree installations
- Jumper installation
- SEPLA anchor installation
- General anchor handling and supply duties
One project involved, what was at the time, the deepest scale squeeze operation ever performed.
Another notable case involved a condemned gas-lift riser system on the KUITO FPSO. This was likely to cause operational delays of up to 12 months. Working closely with CABGOC, we devised a solution to lay coiled tubing, which would reduce the delay by up to eight months, saving CABGOC millions of dollars. This was made possible by the flexible planning and teamwork of the two parties as well as the special capabilities of Maersk Supply Service’s AHTS vessel; crucially, its very large anchor-handling winch.
