Main Responsibilities
The Deck Officer reports to the Captain (or Chief Officer when designated) and also acts as a Dynamic Positioning Operator. They have the general responsibility (not limited to) for safe navigation, maintaining the vessel’s position with the DP system, and the operation/maintenance of safety and rescue equipment, in accordance with the Captain’s directives, maritime regulations, and the Company’s Management System. They supervise maneuvers, maritime traffic, and communications, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
Requirements
- Experience in the role aboard Dynamic Positioning vessels.
- Availability for offshore assignments.
- Commitment to safety and quality in the work environment.
- Valid STCW certificates.
- Proficiency with Word and Excel.
- Advanced English.
Differentials
- Experience in Anchor Handling operations.
- Experience with Kongsberg equipment.
Mandatory Certification
- Certificate of Competence issued by the Brazilian Maritime Authority – STCW II/1 or higher.
- Basic and Advanced Safety Courses issued by the Brazilian Maritime Authority.
- Special Basic Course in Ship Security Awareness.
- Unlimited DP (Full DP) – in some specific cases, the Advanced Course may be considered.
- Registration and Record Booklet (CIR).
- Yellow Fever Vaccination.
