Operations Manager

At Maersk Supply Service Brazil, operations are at the heart of what we do. We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager who can take full ownership of vessel operations, contract execution, and financial performance—while leading with safety, collaboration, and accountability.

If you thrive in a dynamic offshore environment, enjoy working closely with vessels, customers, and internal stakeholders, and take pride in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient operations, we would love to hear from you.

Who we are

We are more than a supply service company—we are a team of people committed to doing things right. Based in Rio de Janeiro, you will join a highly experienced Vessel Management team that works closely together across operations, technical, crewing, commercial, and finance.

We value openness, trust, and teamwork. Here, safety always comes first, ideas are welcomed, and people are supported to grow. We believe strong operational performance goes hand in hand with strong relationships—onshore and offshore.

What You Will Be Doing

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of assigned contracts and the daily operation of assigned vessels, acting as the primary link between vessels, customers, and the organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Full responsibility for safe and compliant vessel operations, ensuring adherence to company procedures, the ISM Code, and applicable regulations
  • Acting as the primary focal point for Masters, Chief Engineers, customers, authorities, and internal stakeholders
  • Ownership of contract performance, including P&L accountability, Daily Running Cost (DRC) control, and cost optimisation in close cooperation with Technical Managers
  • Ensuring successful execution of contracts, with deep understanding of contractual terms and proactive management of operational risks
  • Leading customer engagement to ensure excellent service delivery and prompt handling of operational or service deviations
  • Supporting billing accuracy, invoicing, provisions, and timely collection of receivables
  • Providing operational input to tenders, cost calculations, and contract negotiations
  • Driving continuous improvement in processes, performance, data quality, and cost control
  • Supporting and coaching offshore management to improve vessel performance, safety, and efficiency

The role is part of a duty rota and supports 24/7 operations, including occasional work outside normal business hours and travel to operational locations.

Who You Are

You are an experienced operations professional who combines operational discipline with strong commercial awareness and a safety‑first mindset. You take ownership, work collaboratively, and lead through trust and clear communication:

  • Proficiency in verbal and written English and Portuguese.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, EFOMM or related areas.
  • You have minimum 2-5 years of experience from a similar role within the Oil & Gas market, giving you solid experience in vessel operations or maritime environments.
  • Strong understanding of contract execution, P&L management, and cost control
  • Proven ability to manage complex operations with multiple stakeholders—onshore and offshore
  • A safety-first mindset with good knowledge of compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks
  • The ability to build trust with crews, customers, and colleagues through clear and constructive communication
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel and work in a role that requires flexibility and availability
  • Previous leadership or people management experience is an advantage.
