The Second Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer and is generally responsible (not limited to) for the operation of main and auxiliary engines, thrusters, and maintenance of other equipment under their responsibility, ensuring compliance with the Chief Engineer’s instructions, current legislation, class requirements, and the Company’s Management System. Their role involves supervising operations, ensuring economic efficiency, safety, and environmental protection. Additionally, they coordinate and control the team’s daily work plans, maintaining constant communication with management and other onboard functions to ensure maximum safety and operational quality.

Who You Are

Requirements

  • Experience in the role aboard Dynamic Positioning vessels.
  • Availability for offshore assignments.
  • Commitment to safety and quality in the work environment.
  • Valid STCW certificates.
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel.
  • Advanced English.

Differentials

  • Experience in Anchor Handling operations.
  • Skills in Cutting and Welding.
  •  

Mandatory Certification

  • Certificate of Competence issued by the Brazilian Maritime Authority – STCW III/2.
  • Certificate of Completion of the Improvement Course for Engine Officers (APMA).
  • Basic and Advanced Safety Courses issued by the Brazilian Maritime Authority.
  • Special Basic Course in Ship Security Awareness.
  • DP Maintenance Course.
  • Seaman´s Book.
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination.
