“The most interesting part of my job is telling the world about Maersk Supply Service.”
What is the most interesting part of your job as a Communication and Branding Partner?
The most interesting part of my job is telling the world about Maersk Supply Service and the work that we do! Everyday, I learn something new about the work that our company does through the lens of dedicated colleagues sitting all over the world, both at sea and onshore. Whether it’s securing a contract, delivering a new vessel, or opening a new business area, there is always an exciting story to be told. It is tremendously valuable on both a professional and personal level to be in a fast-paced international setting and share ideas and perspectives with highly talented colleagues who all share a global mindset.
If you could give a new employee in Maersk Supply Service a word of advice, what would it be?
Don’t let the learning curve intimidate you, especially if you come from outside of Maersk or the offshore world. Beginning to learn about our vessels and all their technical details can seem overwhelming, but remember you have access to some of the leading experts in the industry as part of your internal network to answer your questions and provide support.
Take advantage of the opportunities that are available to you. Talk to your colleagues that specialise in unfamiliar areas and if you are onshore, make a concerted effort to experience first-hand the offshore side of the business, or vice-versa. The best thing I ever did was get out and spend some time on a vessel with our offshore crew. There is a huge difference between the workplace at sea and onshore in the office, but it was clear that we all share the Maersk Supply Service culture and have a strong commitment to supporting each other.
