Maersk Supply Service serves the offshore industry with over 60 vessels. The worldwide services include subsea support, transport of equipment to drilling rigs and production units, anchor handling in ultra deep water, mooring installations and towage of offshore structures, drilling rigs and barges.
Maersk Supply Service operates in all major deep-water regions world-wide.
Vessels: Maersk Supply Service offers services from three types of vessels: field and subsea support vessels, anchor handling tug supply vessels and platform supply vessels.
Field and subsea support vessels are fitted with sub-sea cranes or A-frames. This particular type of vessel is very flexible. Therefore, it is able to perform sub-sea work as well as conventional supply and anchor handling duties for the offshore construction industry.
Anchor handling tug supply vessels are capable of performing anchor handling for drilling rigs and other types of offshore equipment. Focus is specifically on deepwater work.
Platform supply vessels perform transport of various cargoes, pipes and stores for rigs and platforms.
Employees: Maersk Supply Service is a part of the A. P. Moller - Maersk Group which is an international company widely recognized within the fields of shipping, offshore, energy and industry.
Worldwide, about 225 people are involved onshore in Maersk Supply Service - either directly or via agency agreements with Maersk offices abroad. Furthermore, about 1,800 crew members are employed primarily from Denmark, United Kingdom, Brazil and Canada. Maersk Supply Service is also employing and training crew members from a number of other countries.

History - landmarks:
1967: Maersk Supply Service enters the offshore market as the first Scandinavian shipping company.
1974: Established as an independent business unit in the A. P. Moller - Maersk Group.
1979: Becomes leading owner and operator in the field of large offshore support vessels with the delivery of the first anchor handling tug supply vessel of more than 10,000 BHP
1986: Delivery of the first anchor handling tug supply vessel over 15,000 BHP.
1994: Enters cable market with the conversion of platform supply vessel "MÆRSK FIGHTER" into a cable vessel.
1995: Exits the market of anchor handling tug supply vessels under 10,000 BHP.
1997: Delivery of the first anchor handling tug supply vessel over 20,000 BHP.
1998: The first 4 dedicated cable vessels are ordered.
1999: First anchor handling simulator is established at Maersk Training Center.
2000: Delivery of the first A-type anchor handling tug supply vessel over 23,500 BHP.
2003: The first field and subsea support vessel based on an A-type anchor handling tug supply vessel fitted with crane is delivered.
Anchor handling simulator is upgraded, and dynamic positioning system is incorporated.
2006: Fleet renewal programme is started - 18 vessels are currently on order.
2007: Contract is signed for further upgrade of anchor handling simulator - including construction of dedicated simulator centre with 4 offshore full mission bridge simulators and classrooms.
2008: Maersk Supply Service A/S is established as a separate limited company.
Own dedicated HSEQ function is created.
2010: MOSAIC - Maersk Offshore Simulator And Innovation Centre - is inaugurated at Maersk Training Centre.
