Throughout the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group, education and training is given top priority. Continuous professional development is not only regarded as a way of preparing our company for the future. It is also seen as a way of unfolding the talent of the individual employee.

Throughout the years, A.P. Moller - Maersk has implemented and renewed a comprehensive education system to meet the special demands of a large international organisation.

Maersk Supply Service provides a large number of courses for the offshore personnel both within personnel development as well as technical skills within navigation, anchor handling and dynamic positioning. Most courses take place at Maersk Training Center with dedicated facilities.

In addidtion, various education programmes are offered to onshore staff. The programmes involve training in areas such as:

  • Training of personal skills, e.g. presentation techniques and sales techniques.
  • IT skills.
  • Language training at different levels.
  • Courses in economics and maritime law.
  • Education aimed at solving future management tasks.

Furthermore, we conduct course activities that concentrate on the specific work areas of the individual departments or companies. Some parts of the supplementary education are special company courses in our own education facilities. Other parts take shape of employee participation in open courses at leading domestic and foreign education institutions.

In order to know the future goals of the employee and to evaluate the individual's performance and potential, appraisal interviews are carried out once a year.
